Natalia Poniatowska is an artist who explores the boundaries between fine art and documentary photography in her work, drawing inspiration from her surroundings and her own experiences. Poniatowska has exhibited her photography internationally, winning numerous awards, including the 30 under 30 Female Photographers Award (2024) and Female in Focus (2020).

This photograph resembles a visual poem, inviting reflection on the boundary between presence and absence, between humanity and nature. The setting—a tranquil, pale blue pool surrounded by rugged, chalky rocks—feels otherworldly, as if belonging to a place untouched by time or human intervention. A yellow bathrobe hanging from a branch serves as a silent symbol of the human spirit in this tranquil, almost mystical landscape. Its vibrant yet subtle color is a subtle trace of human presence within the prevailing natural landscape. The calm, milky water contrasts with the roughness of the rocks, embodying a paradox: the soft fluidity of water and fabric against the hardness of rock. Yellow flowers among the green vegetation suggest the tenacity of life in shaded places. Ultimately, the image reflects themes of transience and belonging. The hanging fabric becomes a metaphor for our fleeting existence within the vast beauty of the earth, a gentle reminder of our place in the great, enduring cycle of nature. /chat GPT describes my work 5/65
