Olsza Grochowska

Olsza Grochowska is a Polish nature photographer who works in analog medium format. Her work is characterized by a unique aesthetic, in which references to classic nature photography are intertwined with a painterly, sometimes abstract, visual language. She immerses herself in nature to tenderly and carefully capture the beauty of flora and landscapes. The nature she depicts is shrouded in mystery—dark yet fabulous—that we long to become a part of. Olsza's photographs are not merely documentation but also an attempt to approach the inner rhythms of the world: the hums, rustles, trills, whispers, and crackles. These are images that don't shout—rather, they invite us to listen to what we are increasingly distancing ourselves from. In 2024, as part of a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Olsza pursued an original photographic and audio project, traveling through Poland's wildest areas—national parks.
